Two-way ticket sync: keep ServiceNow and Jira in charge
Evaluate two-way ticket sync with progress, resolution and requester reopening in ServiceNow and Jira. Keep the existing system of record and approval rules.

A second inbox should not become a second truth
An AI desk that reads a ticket but never writes its work back creates another place for people to check. Decide which system owns the request, how progress appears there and how a requester can reject a proposed resolution. Support should preserve the team’s existing operating record.
Test the whole conversation
A useful test includes intake, work notes, resolution and the requester reopening the issue. Verify identities, permissions and failure handling on both sides. Seeing a ticket copied into a demo is not the same as proving the round trip.
Separate sync proof from application proof
Tenured by Ignite9 has demonstrated two-way sync end to end against real ServiceNow and Jira Cloud instances, including requester rejection and reopening. This establishes the ticket-sync scope. It does not prove every application workflow: Salesforce has a built connector, and Workday has REST and SOAP profiles, with end-to-end application validation still separate.
Turn writes on deliberately
Ticket writes remain off until the client enables them. Review the configured project or instance, the allowed actions and the evidence for the specific process. Pair ticket-sync tests with the application owners’ impact and release controls so a successful update does not get confused with authority to deploy.
