TENURED BY IGNITE9 · DOCUMENT · TENURED ARCHIVIST
Tenured Archivist: documentation for the custom code nobody wrote down.
Tenured Archivist reads your organization’s own custom objects in display and writes the documentation they never had, with every statement citing the code it read.
Tenured by Ignite9 is one digital employee for the whole cycle of your enterprise applications: run, modernize, comply, bank, integrate, change, document and deliver. Tenured Archivist is one of its eight service lines, not a separate product.
01 / WHAT GETS IN THE WAY
The problems you already know.
The authors have moved on
Custom programs, exits and enhancements outlive the people who wrote them, and any documentation describes an earlier version.
Every change starts with detective work
Before a fix or an enhancement, someone has to work out what the code does today and what calls it.
SAP ERP 6.0’s mainstream maintenance ends with 2027
SAP’s mainstream maintenance for SAP ERP 6.0 and the other core applications of SAP Business Suite 7 ends at the end of 2027. Deciding what moves to S/4HANA starts with knowing what your custom code does.
Answers need a source
An answer about what a custom program does is only as good as the code it points to, for your auditors and for the next team.
02 / HOW TENURED WORKS ON IT
One digital employee. One governed flow.
- 1
Finds your custom objects
A digital employee lists your system’s custom objects and searches their code, in display.
- 2
Reads the code, never changes it
It reads ABAP source, exits and enhancements in SAP’s own editors, in display. It documents your organization’s own custom code; SAP’s software is not its subject.
- 3
Writes it up, citing what it read
Each object’s documentation cites the code behind each statement and lists what could not be read.
- 4
Your team reviews it
Your SAP team reviews the documentation before anyone relies on it.
03 / WHAT YOU GET
What the work leaves behind.
Documentation per custom object
What each object does, written from its code, with every statement citing the source it read.
What was not read
The objects and code Tenured could not read, and the access your IT team could grant.
04 / DOCUMENT · WHAT TENURED DOES
What Tenured does for you.
Finding and reading your custom code
Digital employees find your custom objects, search their code and read ABAP source, exits and enhancements in display, through a skill your administrator approves.
Writing the documentation
Each object’s documentation cites the code behind every statement, and a check removes and lists any statement the code does not support.
SAP ECC and S/4HANA
The SAP pack covers SAP ECC as well as S/4HANA, through SAP GUI for HTML and SAP’s machine routes.
Moving custom code to where SAP owns more
For each custom object, a recommendation: SAP standard, released APIs SAP keeps stable, a solution SAP builds under contract, or a request to SAP.
05 / IT SHOWS ITS SOURCES
How you can check the work.
- 01
It shows its sources
Every look-up gets its own INFO- reference, and every change carries the proof your requester approves on: the transport Tenured read itself, the unit test before and after, and the rollback values.
- 02
It reads before it changes anything
Digital employees read your systems first, through the vendor’s machine routes before its screens. In QA and production they display only, and Tenured refuses every save, post and release step there.
- 03
Your people approve every change
In its delivery flow, your requester approves the move to QA, the person who tested approves the change, and your IT team deploys it to production. Digital employees never deploy it.
- 04
Your ticketing system stays the record
Two-way ticket sync with ServiceNow and Jira reads tickets in and writes progress and resolutions back, so your service desk keeps one record.
06 / HOW TO START
Become a design partner.
Tenured’s capabilities are delivered through design-partner engagements: scope and timing are confirmed when we scope your work.
Become a design partner
Bring your first cases and shape the work with us. Your people set the scope, and Tenured works on your systems under the access you grant.
Become a design partnerStart with a read-only assessment
Tell us the system and the work. We scope what Tenured reads, read-only, and what it needs from your people, before anything changes.
Start with a read-only assessment
NEXT STEP
Bring one ticket that bounced between five teams.
In a 30-minute demo we show Tenured at work, walk through how it would handle yours, answer your security team’s first questions and agree the scope of a design-partner engagement.
